I'm helping with NextNY's next Community Conversation: New York’s Present and Future as a Place to Foster Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A nextNY Community Conversation. Community conversations are informal, lightly structured, gently lead dialogues amongst members of the NextNY community and a few invited guests. The theme of this community conversation is centered on the ongoing question in the NYC tech community: what does it take to make a sustainable center of innovation?
NYC is not viewed as a center for technology innovation, entrepreneurship, startups, etc, though it is the center of the financial, media, and fashion industries. Does technology innovation mean creating the next web 2.0 site, or is innovation occurring in NYC now but just doesn't get attention because it's not focussed on traditional technology industries?
Anyway, the next conversation is next Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. February 28, 2008 at CRESPA Partners, 100 Park Avenue, New York, NY. There are ten slots left (we've capped it at 75). RSVP here: NYCHub.
