Direct Sales Models at Sun vs. Dell

Joyeur: The Sun Doesn’t Shine on Me...the tale of repeated attempts to buy systems from Sun Microsystems and repeated comparison to Dell's sales model. Net: tell Dell you want to buy servers (a lot of servers) and you get near immediate response. Tell Sun the same thing and...well, the guy is still waiting for a response. The comments are also interesting, with similar criticisms being made of HP and IBM, and even Dell, though Dell seems to come out ahead.
